The work we do most

Kitchen countertops are the core of what Abbey Stoneworks has done since 1997. Perimeter counters, islands, peninsulas, bar tops and full-height backsplashes are all cut from full slabs in our shop on Sloan Hwy.

How a kitchen project runs

1. Quote. Send rough sizes, a sketch or photos, and the look you like. We price it in the material you are considering, or two or three side by side.

2. Choose your stone. Granite is natural and one of a kind. Quartz is engineered, consistent and never needs sealing. Our stone guide compares them.

3. Template. Once the cabinets are installed, we measure the space and plan the seams, overhangs and sink and cooktop cutouts with you, so there are no surprises on install day.

4. Fabricate and install. Your pieces are cut, edged and polished in our shop. Our crew sets them, fits the cutouts and cleans up before we leave.

Remodel or new build

We work directly with homeowners and alongside the builders, remodelers and designers who handle the rest of the kitchen. Tell us who is doing your cabinets and we will coordinate timing with them.

Common questions

When do you measure for countertops?
After the base cabinets are installed and level. We template the real space, not the plans, so the stone fits the room you have.
Can you remove my old countertops?
Ask when you request your quote and tell us what is there now. Removal depends on the material and how it was installed.
Do you install the sink?
We cut and polish the opening for undermount and farmhouse sinks and the cooktop. Ask about sink mounting when you request your quote; a plumber reconnects the water and drain.
Granite or quartz for a busy family kitchen?
Both hold up well. Quartz never needs sealing and resists stains; granite handles heat better and every slab is unique. Many families choose based on the look they want.
