Stone made for fireplaces
Granite and limestone are both natural choices around a firebox. Granite gives a polished, colorful look and wipes clean easily. Limestone has a soft, even tone and is easy to shape into thick hearths and detailed mantels.
New fireplaces and updates
We cut stone for new construction and for updating a dated brick or tile surround. Measure the opening and the wall, or send photos with a tape measure in the shot, and we will work out sizes, thickness and edge details with you.
Built in our shop
Every piece is cut and finished in our Lansing shop and installed by our own crew. Fireplace stone follows your fireplace or insert manufacturer's clearance requirements, so have that information handy when we template.

- Granite or limestone for a fireplace?
- Granite is harder and polishes to a high shine; limestone is softer, matte and easier to shape. Both work well around a fireplace. It comes down to the look you want.
- Can you put stone over my old brick?
- Often, depending on the brick and the clearances your fireplace needs. Send photos and measurements and we will tell you what makes sense.
- Do you make mantel shelves?
- Yes. We cut mantel shelves and legs in granite and limestone to your sizes.
